Heading A4N [Also in Division A5] In a male or female urinal, the anatomically formed collecting member is connected to a urine container by means of non- collapsible tubing so that suction applied to the container is transmitted to the collecting member. As shown, plastic tubing 14 is reinforced with a nylon helix and is connected to sheath 12 through tube 16, which has an opening 24 to drain the front end of the sheath. The sheath is lined with foam plastic 17 and provided with a body contacting foam plastic ring 18. A body harness of elastic straps 19, 22 is provided. In the femal form (Figs. 1-5, not shown) a member of rubber or semi-rigid thermoplastic presents a perforated upper surface from which ducts converge into a drainage chamber. A thin layer of foam plastics may be interposed between the perforated surface and the body. A member having its shape modified so as to be self-supporting is referred to. Alternatively, a foam plastics pad enclosed in a housing may constitute the collecting member.</p> |
