The furnace, esp. for heating steel-making products, comprises a heating zone (4) and a discharger (5) with fingers (6) which are moved beneath the products through a zone (7) extending from the heating zone to the discharger. The discharging zone is equipped with a table (20) above which the fingers travel horizontally, a trough (21) beneath the table's horizontal surface (23), and at least one aperture (24) in the table communicating with the trough. The furnace also has a scraper (26) for the horizontal surface of the table, connected to the discharger perpendicular to the line of its fingers, and the lower part of the trough has a door forming a hopper. The table is made from a refractory concrete containing aluminium or zirconium, and has a thermal insulation layer (31).
