The coin holder installed in a coin-operated machine is fitted flush with a face panel (101) of the machine, in an opening formed in the face panel. The edges of this opening are folded inward (103). The coin holder has a box (105) with a sliding drawer (107). The box is locked in place in the face panel of the machine and the drawer can be locked inside the box. Coin entry is through a slot (115) in the top wall of the box. The edge of the box fitting in the opening in the front panel is reinforced by strips (119) attached to the sides of the box. The strips are shaped to extend over the folded in edge (103) of the panel opening, making difficult insertion the blade of a screwdriver or a similar tool.
