A detection arrangement for detecting air movements, for example due to wind, comprises an air vane which is suspended movably around a neutral position, and sensor means for detecting deflections of the air vane with respect to its neutral position. The sensor means can comprise a vibration source (for example of ultrasound) and a cell sensitive to said vibrations, which are located opposite a light-reflecting surface connected to the arm (bracket).
