The prosthesis has a tibial anchor shaft (1) which cooperates via a conical head (11) with a top plate (2) which receives an insert of synthetic material. The top plate has a conical aperture (13) formed in a sleeve (12) depending from its lower surface, coaxial with an opening in the upper surface (17) of the plate. The aperture receives the head of the tibial shaft, which is secured by a screw (15) passing through the insert and the hole in the plate surface to engage in a threaded axial hole of the shaft head. The insert includes a cut-out (18) in its upper surface configured to receive and secure the head of the screw, with a shoulder surface (18A) defining a depth stop for the screw.
