<p>A scraper assembly (10) for clearing manure deposits (12) from a manure collection board (14) associated with an animal cage arrangement (16) is provided. The scraper assembly (10) includes a first scraper blade (34, 36) extending in a generally diagonal direction with respect to a length (L) of the collection board (14), but only partially across a width (W) of the collection board (14), in an area of maximum manure deposits (12). The scraper assembly (10) further includes a second scraper blade (44, 46) extending in a substantially opposite generally diagonal direction with respect to the diagonal extension of the first scraper blade (34, 36). The second scraper blade (44, 46), however, extends substantially across the entire width (W) of the collection board (14). The first and second scraper blades (34, 36; 44, 46) are supported by a support frame (32) capable of maintaining the generally diagonal opposite orientation of the two blades (34, 36; 44, 46), and the support frame (32) is driven by a driver (52, 54) which initially advances the scraper blades (34, 36; 44, 46) in a forward direction along the length (L) of the collection board (14) at which time the first scraper blade (34, 36) clears the area of maximum deposit on the board (14).</p> |
