POLY(VINYL ALCOHOL) COPOLYMER SIZES HAVING HIGH CAPACITY TO BE DESIZED

Certain, specifically useful poly(vinyl alcohol) copolymer sizes and sizes based on blends of those copolymers with known size polymers are described. The sizes are useful in the process of producing woven materials, since they are excellent sizes and are uniquely adaptable to a desizing process which uses caustic solutions. The sizes are very readily desizable, even when the woven textile fabrics have been heat treated. These readily desizable sizes are based on copolymers having a high level of acrylic ester comonomer.
