This invention comprises an apparatus (10) for the safe temporary storage of a string instrument (300) and a bow (400). The string instrument holder is attached to the desk (220) of a music stand (210) by means of an attachment clamp (50, 52) which can be adjusted to accommodate varying thicknesses of music stand desks. The string instrument is then hung by its scroll (310) from two curved support members (20, 30). The bow (400) for a string instrument is hung by its frog (410) from an additional curved support section (34) extending from one of the curved support members (30) holding the string instrument.
