<p>A process for making a detergent composition in form of agglomerates is provided. The process for making a detergent composition comprises the step of adding a paste mixture to a mixer/densifier, wherein the paste mixture includes from about 1 % to 50 % by weight of a detersive surfactant system comprising at least about 30 % of a sulfated surfactant selected from the group consisting of alkyl sulfates, alkyl ethoxy sulfates, secondary alkyl sulfates and mixtures thereof, and from about 1 % to 50 % of a hydrotrope selected from the group consisting of sulfyl succinates, xylene sulfonates, cumene sulfonates and mixtures thereof. The process also includes the steps of mixing at least about 1 % by weight of a detergency builder into the mixer/densifier, and agglomerating the paste mixture and the builder into detergent agglomerates which are substantially free of phosphates. The anionic surfactants in the detergent composition have significantly improved dissolution in aqueous laundering solutions, especially those kept at cold temperatures, i.e. 5 °C to 30 °C.</p> |
