<p>A mevalonolactone compound is produced by batchwise chromatography or pseudo-moving bed method both using a column filled with a packing material for optical resolution comprising a polysaccharide derivative. The pseudo-moving bed method comprises jointing endlessly a number of columns to form a circulating flow path wherein a fluid is forcibly circulated in one direction, providing alternatingly along the direction of flow of the circulated fluid inlets for feeding the fluid into the column and outlets for drawing the fluid out of the column, moving intermittently the positions of the inlets and the outlets in the direction of flow of the circulated fluid, feeding a solution containing a racemate of a mevalonolactone compound and an eluent into a circulating path through the inlets, and drawing out simultaneously a solution enriched with nonadsorbates and a solution enriched with adsorbates through the outlets.</p> |
