The control uses an internal, or external, sensor-controlled regulator (3), coupled to the circulation pump drive (2), for controlling the pump revs, in dependence on monitored operating parameters of the central heating system, e.g., the external temp. and the water circulation temp. The regulator incorporates an adjustable timing element (4), activated at the max. pump revs and used for maintaining the max. pump revs over a timed interval, sufficient for any air within the central heating system to be expelled. Pref., the timing element is formed as an integral part of the pump drive.
