A railway vehicle having compartments C and a corridor D includes a pipe 9 extending along the corridor for supplying heated air to the compartments and serving as heat source for a convector arranged along the exterior corridor wall. Fresh air is drawn into a unit A below the floor of the vehicle by a fan 2 and is passed through a filter 4 to a heater 5 and cooler 6. Air from the heater and cooler passes via ducts 9 and 10 to a mixing chamber 12 in each compartment under the control of valves located at the mixing chamber and is supplied thence to induction units arranged below the compartment windows.</p> |
