A spectacle frame comprising two eyewires 11 joined by a metallic bridge 12 and each provided with clamping means for securing a lens in position, and a pair of top rims 30 grooved to fit over and conceal the top portions of the eyewires 11, is characterized in that each rim 30 is releasably secured to a metallic block 25 fixed to the temporal side of its associated eyewire, the nasal end of the rim 30 being provided with a slot 36 which receives the adjacent end of the bridge 12, while a plaque 44 fixed to the temporal side of each eyewire extends laterally and rearwardly and carries at its rear end a temple hinge. The connection between each rim 30 and block 25 is provided by a screw which passes through a hole in the rim and screws into a hole in the block. As shown in Fig. 1, the laterally extending portion of each plaque abuts against the temporal end of the adjacent rim 30.</p> |
