<p>An envelope opening mechanism in which a drive roller (20) carries envelopes (10) successively from a hopper (1) into a shaped pocket (30) past a guide member (25), which bends the body (11) of the envelope to separate the flap (12) therefrom. Continued rotation of roller (20) also withdraws the envelope, such that the flap engages the guide member (25) to effect a further opening movement and flatten the flap (12).</p> |
