The sensor to measure the level in containers, using an ultrasonic converter, has a piezo ceramic disc (1) with a coaxial central radiation cone, and a piezo film (8) with a side radial displacement outside the cone in the housing. For measurements within the block distance, the disc (1) is the transmitter and the film (8) is the receiver. For measurement outside the block distance, the disc (1) is operated as a transceiver.
