摘要 Prodn of crystal member having a controlled crystal orientation comprises bonding a seed material (1) by bridging it into contact with another material (2) and heating them to a temp at which movement of the grain boundary is induced. The crystalline structure of material (2) changes to a structure which has a uniform crystal orientation. (1) Has a crystal structure which is the same as or similar to that of (2). (1) Is maintained in a predetermined crystalline orientation which is in a lower energy state that (2). The starting material for (2) is a crude steel slab contg Si. This material is hot-rolled and then rolled into a thick sheet with or without annealing and finally annealed to produce an orientated electro-magnetised steel sheet. After hot-rolling or before the final annealing the recrystallised seed material (1) is bonded to the edge of the steel-sheet (2) such that alpha is less than 5 deg C and beta is 1-5 deg and then heated to a temp at which interparticle-movement is generated. Where alpha is the angle between a projection of the 001 axis of (1) on the rolling surface of (1) and the rolling surface of the steel sheet, and beta is the angle of the inclination of the rolling surface of (2) with the 001 axis of (1).
