PURPOSE:To automatically build a piston ring in a groove accurately and speedily, by fitting a piston in a piston fitting recess of a ring magazine, and controlling the feed of piston rings being held and stacked in pile so minutely with a feed mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a piston P is fitted in a piston fitting recess 40 of a ring magazine 16 in an inverted endwise state, a feed mechanism Fe operates, giving feed motion to each piston ring held and stacked in pile in the ring magazine 16. And, the feed is minutely controlled by a feed control mechanism Fc, whereby the piston ring can be automatically built in a piston ring groove accurately and speedily. And, with only replacing the ring magazine 16, it is able to correspond to the built-in of the piston ring to another piston different in size, so that it is excellent in universality and, what is more, built-in cost for the piston ring is sharply abatable. |
