This filter comprises a light scattering board obtainable by preparing a film containing at least two kinds of photopolymerizable monomer or oligomer whose refractive indexes are 0.01 or more different from one another, and by irradiating the film with ultraviolet rays. This filter is used on the front side of a liquid crystal display element, thus making it possible to enlarge the angle of field of the liquid cristal display screen, reduce the shade of opaque sections of the element, and eliminate moire fringes. <IMAGE>
