A method of producing slabs or plates of concrete material having an upper surface, in use, of artificial and/or natural stone or ceramics material comprises locating a plurality of flat- surfaced blocks 1 which form the upper surface and one or more lattice-type webs 9 on the base of an expanded plastics material mould 3'' so that the webs separate the blocks but the blocks stand proud of the upper edge of the or each web, filling the gaps between the blocks with quartz sand 6, filling the mould with concrete mortar 7 (with or without reinforcing members 8), allowing the concrete to set, removing the mould and replacing the sand with grouting material. The web or webs 9 are part of or removable from the mould. The concrete 7 may include a resin. <IMAGE> |
