PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and raw preservability and prevent the production of a white powder, in a thermal recording material wherein a specific thermal color forming layer is arranged on a support, by adding a coupler solidified in an amorphous state under specific conditions as a co-coupler in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is obtained by arranging a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye, a coupler composed of bisphenol and a sensitizer with an m.p. of 70-100 deg.C on a support. In this case, a coupler solidified in an amorphous state at the time of cooling from a molten state at cooling speed of 3 deg.C/sec or less is added to the thermal color forming layer as a co-coupler in an amt. of 0.05-0.5 pts. per 1 pts. of bisphenol. As the sensitizer, m-terphenyl is used. By this constitution, the thermal recording material having high sensitivity, excellent in raw preservability and generating no white powder is inexpensively obtained. |
