PURPOSE:To produce the subject polymer having a specified repeating unit and excellent in adhesion, moldability, transparency, optical properties, mechani cal strength, flexibility and heat resistance by conducting a polyaddition reaction between a bisphenol A type diglycidyl ether, etc., and dimercaptomethyldithiane. CONSTITUTION:This polymer having a repeating unit of formula III is produced by conducting a polyaddition reaction between (A) a bisphenol A or F type diglycidyl ether of formula I [R is CH2, C(CH3)2, (C6H5)2, SO2 or O; X and Y are each H, CH3, a halogen; (n) is 0 to 16] and (B) 2,5-dimercaptomethyl-1,4- dithiane of formula II in a molar ratio of the component (A) to the component (B) within a range of 0.90 to 1.10. |
