PURPOSE:To store and reproduce only the images included in a desired area of a single screen by compressing and coding these images. CONSTITUTION:A display device 17 shows the digital image data inputted to a frame buffer 15, and a pointing device 12 designates an area on a display screen. Then only the images included in the designated area are compressed and coded by an image coding part 18 and stored in a compressed data storage part 19. When a reproducing instruction is inputted through a keyboard 11, the compressed image data are read out of the part 19 and decoded by an image decoding part 20. These decoded image data are outputted to a video RAM16 and displayed by the device 17. Meanwhile a transmitting instruction is inputted through the keyboard 11, and a data transmitting part 23 reads the stored contents of the part 19 to transmit them to a data receiving part 33. Then an image decoding part 34 decodes the contents of the part 19 and gives them to a video RAM35, and these decoded contents are shown in images by a display device 36. |
