PURPOSE:To secure fail safe at actuator abnormal time in a braking device for a vehicle to transmit brake operation by a driver to an actuation input part through an actuator. CONSTITUTION:A brake actuator 50-1 to impress external force according to lever operation of a driver is connected to a brake pedal 25 to transmit proper thrust to a master cylinder 26. The brake actuator 50-l has a spring 52 to energize the brake pedal 25 to the body side, a motor 54 to cause torque according to indication of the driver, an electromagnetic clutch 53 to transmit or cut off the torque and a gear mechanism 55 to convert the transmitted torque into straight line directional force. At abnormal time, the electromagnetic clutch 53 is disengaged, and only energizing force Fs is exerted on the brake pedal 25.
