PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recording ink excellent in printing quality and discharge stability even under a high-frequency drive condition and to provide a recording method in which this ink is used. CONSTITUTION:This ink jet recording ink contains, at least, water, a water-soluble dye, 5 to 20wt.% lower alkyl ether of a polyhydric alcohol, 0.1 to 3wt.% acetylene glycol and/or an acetylene glycol derivative and further 0.001 to 1.0wt.% benzotriazole. In addition, this recording method is carried out by supplying this ink from an ink tank involving an ink absorbent impregnated with this ink and discharging the ink through a nozzle orifice in which a water repelling treatment is applied to the nozzle surface. |
