SIZING AGENT COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR SIZING FIBER PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent adsorption characteristics on a fiber product, not making the product too hard, containing a specific cationic polymer and a chelating agent. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing a chelating agent (e.g. ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or its salt) is mixed with a sizing agent prepared by adding a cationic polymer prepared by subjecting a monomer (preferable example: vinyl acetate) to emulsion polymerization to give a sizing agent composition having excellent adsorption characteristics in treating a fiber product and not making the fiber product too hard after sizing.
