PURPOSE:To provide high capacity, and improve safety by disposing material of which electron conductivity is changed largely by oxidation-reduction reaction between active material or active material mix for composing electrodes, and collectors of them. CONSTITUTION:A material layer 2 of which electron conductivity is changed largely by oxidation-reduction reaction is formed on a positive electrode collector 1 of a battery. Next, fort forming a positive electrode active material layer on the layer 2, manganese dioxide is used for positive electrode active material 3. The layer 2 is thus disposed between the active material 3 or active material mix and the collector 1 for the active material 3 or active material mid, so safety of the battery is improved extremely. Especially, at the time of over- discharge, in a range under a discharge potential of the active material 3, the layer 2 is changed by reduction reaction drastically from conductive material into insulation material, so it has effect of prohibiting electron conductivity in the over-discharge range. Flow of electrons is thus disconnected, and rupture or firing of the battery by an overcurrent can be prevented. Performance of the battery can thus be improved. |
