PURPOSE:To enhance service and maintenance properties by coagulating a dye or pigment in recovered ink by a coagulant soluble in an ink solvent and making the dye or pigment insoluble in the solvent to prevent ink from leaking as it is to contaminate the circumference. CONSTITUTION:As ink, one based on an anionic dye, for examaple, black : C. I. food black 2, yellow : C. I. direct yellow 86, cyan : C. I. direct blue 199 and magenta : C. I. direct red 227 and water is used. For example, a coagulant 34 of an anionic dye is received in a waste ink container 16 and, for example, polyallylamine is used. The anionic dye in the ink introduced into a container 16 from tubes 13a-13d is reacted with the coagulant 34 to be settled in the container 16 as an insoluble solid 35. Therefore, the residual component of the ink becomes only water and, even if the ink is allowed to flow out by mistake, the circumference is not contaminated. |
