PURPOSE:To reduce removal or fluffing of fibers in handling for preventing generation of short-circuiting, eliminate need of organic solvent, improve safety, and provide environmental protection by forming a porous negative electrode plate to be used for a battery as a porous sheet comprising non-linear carbon fibers. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular lithium secondary battery comprises a painted type positive electrode plate of a belt form, and a porous carbon sheet negative electrode plate using non-linear carbon fibers wound in a long spiral form through a separator to be a battery power generation element 5 gas-tightly sealed in a case main body 3 comprising material of steel plate on which resin film is laminated. The positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate are electrically connected to a rivet terminals 1 having gaskets 2 respectively. The negative electrode plate is formed by jetting hard-to-be-graphitized isotropic pitch from a nozzle, cooling it by eddy currents of air around a nozzle exit to be fibers, performing an infusibility process, and processing and moulding the graphitized non-linear carbon fibers into a high density felt paper. |
