<p>PURPOSE: To provide an interface which generates a condition expression for data retrieval only by means of a mouse operation on a disk top and can apply the pertinent condition expression to a data base system containing the object of a retrieval object. CONSTITUTION: A user can specify a basic condition expression by inputting a retrieval item (namely, the attribute of a file), displays a composite condition expression expressing a logic operator as a folder and generates a logic operation expression for specifying the retrieval condition by dragging and dropping an icon expressing the condition expression in the folder. Then, the condition expression is applied as the retrieval condition by dropping the icon expressing the generated condition expression on the folder (or icon) expressing a data base. Then, the condition expression is applied to the data base by dropping the icon expressing the data base on the condition expression icon (or folder).</p> |
