An oscillating drive disc (58) inclined by a constraint bar (68) drives a flexible cylinder (26). The flexible cylinder is fixed in position and attached to upper and lower securing mounts (36). The cylinder has flexible gearing teeth (18). Motion is provided by a number of coils (110) on the flexible cylinder which are held in a magnetic field bound by the disc (58). A circuit powers each of these to exert a force (T) on the disc to obtain the desired position. The teeth enmesh with a second rotating cylinder with a second set of non flexible gearing teeth (44). The outer section is mounted on ball bearings (54,56). The rotating disc deforms the inner gearing and rotates the second gearing, around the axis X-X. |
