Automated, secure parking system e.g. for medium capacity underground garage for vehicles

The parking system comprises several floors divided into parking cells (15) which are arranged radially around a central access well (16). The access well has a vehicle platform (21) which travels between floors using a lift mechanism (24). Vehicles enter the parking system through an entrance chamber (19) and are supported on a transportation platform (2), which is carried by a trolley (3). The vehicle platform (21) may rotate enabling the trolley to carry the vehicle into a vacant parking cell where it is left on the transporting platform.
