发明名称 Catamaran-type-crafts
摘要 1,074,015. Catamarans; aircraft undercarriages; sledges. PACAMARAN INTERNATIONAL July 22, 1964 [March 17, 1964], No. 11186/64. Headings B7A, B7B, B7G and B7S. A framework for craft such as water-borne craft of the catamaran or trimaran type, land craft such as sand or ice yachts, and amphibious craft, which craft may be provided with a free rotor or kite structure to enable same to be airborne when towed, the framework when in use being supported by " craft-supporting means " comprising two or more spaced hulls, floats, pontoons, wheels, skids, skates or skis depending on the function for which the craft is designed, comprises a rigid main beam (10, Figs. 1 and 3, not shown), two pairs of outrigger arms (14), means for securing the arms to the beam and means for attaching " craft-supporting means " (e.g. pontoon P) to the arms, which arms are displaceable between an extended state in which the arms of each pair extend normal to and on opposite sides respectively of the longitudinal axis of the beam and a collapsed state in which the arms lie along the beam. In the embodiments described each outrigger arm (14) comprises an inner arm (26) and an outer arm (28) pivoted (at 24) so as to be folded on to each other. The inner arm is pivoted to the beam by a fulcrum (32) about which the folded arm can be rotated to lie along the beam. The craft supporting means, shown as a pontoon (P), is provided with a socket (59, Fig. 6, not shown) into which fits a pin (58) mounted on the end of the outer arm to allow for relative rotation between the socket (and hence the pontoon) and the outrigger arm. The pin and socket arrangement incorporates a pin about which the craftsupporting means pivots about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the beam. The pontoon may be moulded in polystyrene or glass fibre with a rounded bottom (70, Fig. 7, not shown) and flat deck (72) with the sockets (59) formed by bulkhead members (74) having accommodation for longitudinal strengthening members (80, Fig. 6) and supports for an antiscuff bar (104) which extends along the bottom of the pontoon. The pontoon may be reversed for the deck (72) to act as a planing surface. Fig. 9 (not shown) illustrates an inflatable pontoon. The pontoon may comprise vehicle tyre inner tubes (120, Fig. 10, not shown) protected by a cover (130) so enabling the catamaran craft to be amphibious.
