The invention concerns a spaced fabric, in particular a pile fabric, with a first layer (1) and a second layer (2) plus pile threads (4, 5, 6, 7) linking the two layers (1, 2). In order to produce a spaced fabric of this kind, in particular for use in the manufacture of a component made from it by resinification, and in order to ensure, in spite of increasing the closeness of the fabric, the minimum increase in overall weight and/or the simplest and most effective processing with regard to the resinification, the invention proposes that branches are formed running in the weft and/or warp direction between the layers (1, 2) and tied to or originating from the free-floating pile threads (4, 5, 6, 7). The branches, if woven, are incorporated in a cross-over zone between two pile threads (4, 5, 6, 7), which each alternate between the layers (ancillary weft threads) or run alternately round adjacent ancillary weft threads (as ancillary warp threads).
