The object of the invention is thus an open communication system comprising an exchange with central computer to which the telephone or data transmission lines are connected. The exchange is linked to the user stations via these lines. At each user station there are a computer with an input unit, a display and a printer, a telephone or modem connection and a cash or card processing unit.
