<p>In a manual apparatus (10) for labelling an object (15), preferably a letter envelope, a longitudinally movable carrier strip (22) to which are glued detachable labels (20) is guided along a guiding plane (13'). When the carrier strip (22) is bent at a deflection edge (16), a self-adhesive label is detached therefrom and may then be moved approximately in the direction of the guiding plane (13') onto the object located behind said deflection edge (16). The label (20) is guided after being detached from the carrier strip (22) by a guiding element (25) located before the deflection edge (16) onto the surface (15') of the object (15) that lies below the guiding plane (13'). In a magazine (40) that contains several objects (15) the uppermost object co-operates with the guiding element (25) during labelling so as to be moved away from the magazine when a label is glued.</p> |
