The invention relates to triazolopyridine dyes of formula (I) where one of the two groups A and E stands for nitrogen and the other stands for a group of formula C-R<1>, in which R<1> stands for optionally substituted C1-C20 alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted mercapto, Q is a group of formula (i) or (ii) where R<2> stands for a carbocyclic or heterocyclic group, R<3> stands for optionally substituted C1-C20 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl or optionally substituted phenyl, R<4> stands for cyano, carbamoyl, carboxyl, C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl or benzothiazolyl, or R<3> and R<4> together stand for the group of a fused benzo ring, and X stands for CH or nitrogen, and R<5> signifies oxygen or a group of a CH acid compound. The invention further relates to a process for the heat transfer of these dyes.
