Full=wave inverter control method

In a procedure for controlling a full-wave inverter, there are only two thyristors or valves used per half wave while the other two remain permanently conducting or non-conducting. For the next half wave, the pairs of thyristors swop over. Thus, compared to conventional inverters where all thyristors are used all the time, the switching loss is reduced by half and the overall efficiency is increased. Control signals for the thyristors are generated by comparing a sinusoidal control voltage with a higher frequency scanning signal, this being superimposed on a direct voltage.
