A liner (11) for an aircraft (10) comprises a sheet of material having a plurality of standoffs (48) integral with the liner (11) sheet that extend in opposite directions from the plane defined by the liner sheet (11). Standoffs (48) extending in one placement against the inside surface of (30) the fuselage skin (28). Standoffs (46) extending in an opposite direction have a generally planar end portion to accommodate the placement of an insulation blanket (38) thereon. The liner (11) comprises a matrix of both types of standoffs (46, 48) uniformly distributed throughout the liner sheet. A plurality of openings are through the sheet between the standoffs. The standoffs (46, 48) extend a predetermined distance from the plane of the liner sheet to provide a predetermined amount of separation between the inside surface (30) of the skin (28) and insulation blanket (38). The openings (54) provide a fluid flow path for condensate formed at the blanket side of the liner to flow downwardly from the blankets along the inside surface (30) of the skin down to the bilge (34) of the aircraft where it is removed.
|
