The device has a slide mounted in a saddle tube (2) for the vertical adjustment of the saddle height. A guide rail (1) is attached to the slide, such that on adjustment of the saddle a slide (3) is displaced horizontally in an upper tube (4). This drives a slide (5) across the guide rail (6), positioning it vertically. The adjustment can be made mechanically and driven manually, or can be driven electrically, pneumatically, or hydraulically, via a toothed rod or spindle. Drive from pressurised air or hydraulic fluid is also an option.
