The invention relates to a device (10) for greasing strip- or plate-like workpieces (11) having a plurality of hollow greasing rolls (17 to 21) aligned coaxially to one another, which can be placed against the surface (22, 23) of the workpiece and are rotatably mounted on a hollow shaft (48) arranged in a frame (12) of the device. The object on which the invention is based is to provide a greasing device of the greatest possible flexibility which can be used both for complete and for partial greasing of workpieces. This object is achieved essentially by the fact that two rows (15, 16) of individually mounted greasing rolls (17 to 21) are arranged in the frame (12) of the device, above and below the place (13, 14) where the workpiece (11) passes through, it being possible to place these greasing rolls simultaneously or at different times against the facing surface (22, 23) of the workpiece.
