PURPOSE: To suppress calculation cost or to eliminate complication by using only one most significant bit and/or the most significant bit in comparison between pixel values. CONSTITUTION: One reference pixel block (BS) is compared with one pixel or a pixel block (SAS) corresponding to plural adjacent images in each one search area, than, a motion vector is determined according to a position fundamentally with the maximum correlation. And only the MSB (one of the most significant bits) and/or only an MSBs (the most significant bit) is used by being supplied with a reference MSBs , which is generally called as an MSBs afterward, in the comparison between the pixel values. In this way, the MSBs of the pixel of a present block is logically coupled with search area pixels A to T according to a table shown in a drawing in a successive cycle CL, an EXOR function or an EXNOR function to determine a result of a first combination. |
