PURPOSE:To provide an optical connector edge machining device inexpensive and capable of shortening a machining time for an optical connector, enhancing productivity and machining the optical connector without leaving any flaw on an optical fiber edge, as well as a retainer capable of properly holding the optical connector and ensuring an edge machining process of high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:In this edge machining device 1 for an optical connector and an optical connector holder used therefor, a removal section 10 to remove an adhesive oozing on the edge of an optical connector is provided, together with a polishing section 20 laid adjacent to the section 10 for grinding and polishing the edge of the optical connector free from the adhesive, and a holding member 31 for detachably holding a plurality of optical connectors with each edge projected and for moving the projected edges as a whole in a direction for nearing and parting from the section 10 or 20. Also, a selector section 30 is provided for selecting a plurality of optical connectors held on the member 31 as a whole at the section 10 or 20. |
