PURPOSE:To improve repetitive durability and C/N (S/N) ratio by suppressing flow of a liquid phase by scanning spot of reading out light. CONSTITUTION:This optical disk is constituted by forming a phase transition material layer which can be crystallized after melting on a transparent substrate 2 formed with recording pits l which are optically readable out according to information signals. This phase transition material layer is partially changed to a liquid phase within the scanning spots of reading out light and the reflectivity thereof changes when the optical disk is irradiated with the reading out light. The flow of the liquid phase is suppressed by confining the angle alpha <=40 deg. which is formed by the peripheral wall surfaces 1a of the recording pit 1 of the optical disk and the normal of the transparent substrate 2. |
