PURPOSE:To provide the radio receiver having an automatic gain control function realizing sure call reception. CONSTITUTION:An amplification factor of an RF amplifier 21 of a reception section 2 is made variable, an intensity of a reception signal outputted from an IF amplifier 26 of the reception section 2 is detected by a signal intensity sensor 29 and the result of detection is given to an automatic gain control circuit 33, which provides an output of a gain control signal in response to the result of detection synchronously with an intermittent reception control signal from an intermittent reception control circuit 32 in response to the reception timing and the gain control signal is used to control the amplification factor of the RF amplifier 21. |
