<p>PURPOSE:To continuously carry various sizes of sheets at the minimum spaces, and to accurately and continuously correct the inclined advance of the sheet by abutting or alienating a sheet carrying means being on a more upstream side in a sheet carrying direction than a registration means to carry out the correction of inclined advance according to the length of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a manuscript G is set on a manuscript loading base 1, the length Ls1, Ls2 in a carrying direction of the manuscript G are detected by sensors 2a, 2b. In the case where the length of the manuscript G is Ls1, since the length of Ls1 is longer than carriage length La1 from a registration means 8 to the second carrying roller pair 6 and shorter than length in which carriage length Lb from the registration means 8 to a light transmission type sensor 9 is added, the second carrying roller pair 6 which is previously set in an alienated state is abutted by an abutting-alienating mechanism. In the case where the length of the manuscript G is Ls2, since the length of Ls2 is longer than La1 and moreover the length in which the carriage length Lb is added, the second carrying roller pair 6 is kept as it is in the alienated state.</p> |
