PURPOSE:To obtain a three dimensional image forming device capable of forming a three dimensional image even by using neither an acoustooptic element as a control means nor a laser as a radiation source. CONSTITUTION:A three dimensional image is formed by repeating a plurality of times a process wherein at least a part of a photosetting compound 9 is optically set by irradiating the photosetting compound 9 with radioactive rays 14, and further a new photosetting compound 9 is introduced onto a layer set with the radioactive rays 14, at least a part of the photo-setting compound 9 is optically set by irradiating it with the radioactive rays 14 again. As a means wherein radiation intensity and/or radiation pattern of the radioactive rays 14 are controlled, a liquid crystal optical element 4 capable of controlling transmittance of the radioactive rays 14 with an external signal 15 is provided in an irradiation optical path of the radioactive rays 14.
