发明名称 METHOD FOR ADJUSTING ELECTROMOTIVE FORCE OF GAS SENSOR ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to adjust the reference electromotive force of a gas sensor element readily by connecting a DC stabilized power supply between a working electrode and a reference electrode, and applying the specified voltage. CONSTITUTION:The (-)terminal of a DC stabilized power supply 11 is connected to a working electrode layer 7 of a solid electrolyte gas sensor element 10. The (+)terminal is connected to a reference electrode layer 9. When the constant voltage is applied, the current based on the difference between the electromotive force of the element 10 and the applied voltage flows. That is to say, when the potential of the electrode layer 7 is higher than the potential of the terminal of the power supply 11, the current flows from the electrode layer 7 to the power supply 11. In the reverse case, the current flows from the power supply 11 to the electrode layer 7. As a result, movable ions are moved in a solid electrolyte layer 5 of the element, and the activity change of the movable ions at the interface of the electrode layer 7 and the electrolyte layer 5 is generated. Therefore, the electromotive force of the element 10 itself is changed into the direction offsetting the difference with the applied voltage and substantially agrees with the applied voltage value from the power supply. Thus, the reference electromotive force having the constant correlation with the voltage can be freely adjusted by applying the specified voltage from the power supply 11.
