The transmitter's phone number is detected from a receiver's side by using the method. The method includes the steps of; (A)checking a ring processing mode; (B)generating ring signal, sending phone number request to the transmitter and displaying the number, or sending phone number request to the transmitter, displaying the number, and generating ring signal according to the modes detected in the step (A); and (C) connecting the loop according to the hook state.
