[Also in Division F2] In a gear tooth cutting machine having a device for varying the axial spacing during the tooth-cutting operation, a rack-type tool 47 is mounted to reciprocate on a tool pillar 45, and a workpiece, a sector 8, is clamped on a mandrel 48 which is given a rolling motion on its rotational axis, a carriage 49 being displaced parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tool 47. A carriage 50 is mounted to slide freely on the machine bed 51 and carries a guide rule 58 having a profiled surface which is held in contact with a guide roller 60 mounted on the bed 51, and this controls the feed of the workpiece 8 towards the tool 47. |
