PURPOSE:To improve the control accuracy of mold opening and closing speed without increasing the cost and carry out the changeover of speed smoothly in compliance with the instructed value. CONSTITUTION:A compression molding machine comprises a cylinder 45 for opening and closing a mold, an accmulator 47 for supplying hydraulic oil to the cylinder 45, a flow rate control means 1 for controlling the flow rate of hydraulic oil from the accumulator 47 to the cylinder 45 and a sensor 5 for sensing the speed. The flow rate control means 1 of the compression molding machine i.s provided with a rough flow rate control means 2 and a fine flow rate control means 3, and while the flow rate of hydraulic oil is so controlled roughly as to obtain the desired mold opening and closing speed by the rough flow rate control means 2, the accurate desired mold opening and closing speed can be obtained based on the actural speed of the mold sensed by the sensor 5 finely by the fine flow rate control means 3 in the control method. |
